The Chelsea midfielder has been rewarded for his fine club displays with a recall and could make his first appearance for the Selecao after an absence of over a year
Ramires has ben recalled to the Brazil squad by Mano Menezes as they continue their 2014 World Cup preparations with a friendly against Sweden. The 25-year-old was instrumental in Chelsea's FA Cup and Champions League triumphs last season but has not featured for the Selecao since the 2011 Copa America.
But Menezes has opted to welcome the midfielder back and he will be joined by club team-mates David Luiz and Oscar.
In what is largely the same squad that is currently competing in the Olympic Games in London, Dede and David Luiz will bolster the defence, while Marcelo is rested. Highly-rated Corinthians midfielder Paulinho is also called up and could earn just his second cap.
Valencia striker Jonas could make his first appearance for the national team since appearing as a late substitute in the 2-1 win over Bosnia and Herzegovina back in February.
The friendly against Sweden will take place on August 15.
