The former AZ Alkmaar attacker knows all about his new team-mate from past collisions in the Netherlands, and he's glad to have the Moroccan midfielder on his side from now on.Brett Holman has given his backing to fellow Aston Villa newcomer Karim El Ahmadi, firm in his belief that the Moroccan midfielder will be a big hit in the Premier League.
The Australian forward and the former Feyenoord man are two of three players signed by the Villains this summer from the Eredivisie - the other being Dutch international defender Ron Vlaar - and Holman is a massive admirer of El Ahmadi.
"I've played against him quite a few times in Holland and you can see what sort of player he is if you study the footage," Holman told the club's official website.
"He stands out in the teams he's played at. He played at FC Twente and also Feyenoord.
"When he was at Twente he was one of the up-and-coming midfield players who was very highly thought of and was tipped to make it big. "
The 27-year-old became Paul Lambert's first signing as Villa boss, joining for £2 million.
