Adam is ‘jealous of Bale’ says Walker after Tottenham winger suffers new injury

The Liverpool midfielder has already been described as a "coward" after his bad challenge on the winger, and now Spurs' right-back says the Scot should learn from the Welshman
Tottenham defender Kyle Walker has stated that Liverpool midfielder Charlie Adam is "jealous" of Gareth Bale after he put in a challenge on the Welsh winger that could rule him out of the start of the Premier League season.

The two top-flight sides met at Baltimore's M&T Bank Stadium but the game was overshadowed by the injury sustained by the 23-year-old.

Bale himself labelled Adam a "coward" following the challenge that meant he was forced to leave the stadium on crutches, and now Walker has piled in, stating that the Scot should learn from Bale, "rather than kick him."

"The reason for it is simple - he is jealous as Gareth is such a good player," Walker told reporters.

"He did him at our place last year when he was sent off.

"It just keeps coming up that he doesn't really like him. Players shouldn't hate Gareth, they should appreciate playing against a player like him.

"They could actually learn from him, rather than kick him. He's a great player."
