The American goalkeeper praises the Portuguese's approach to training and insists he will not make a decision over his future until the end of the current campaign
The former Chelsea manager was appointed to replace Harry Redknapp and has insisted that he wants to bring the Premier League title to White Hart Lane.
"Every manager's different," Friedel told reporters. "This is my 21st season – I've worked with a lot of managers."
"His professionalism and dedication and energy that he's brought to training has been good. All the players are in really good spirits and we're really looking forward to the season."
At the age of 41, Freidel is seven years Villas-Boas' senior but, when asked if that changed the way they work together, the former Aston Villa man insisted that the Portuguese's experience was all that mattered.
"A lot of people have asked me this question," he said. "Yes, I am older than him, but he's got far more years experience as a manager. I have zero. So he's much older than me when it comes to managerial experience."

Friedel sgned a two-year deal with Spurs last summer and the American admitted he is unsure of his future plans, delaying a decision until towards the end of the current campaign.
"At 41 years of age, we'll see," he added. "I'm taking it sort of day at a time, not even season at a time right now. We'll just see how the body is in April and we'll see if I'll carry on some more or not."
