Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is delighted with Arsenal’s transfer activity so far this summer and believes the club can enjoy a successful season.

Arsene Wenger has brought attacking duo Lukas Podolski and Olivier Giroud to the club so far and England international Oxlade-Chamberlain is impressed with the calibre of both players.

When asked if he was happy with the new additions, he told Sky Sports News: "Yeah, of course. Podolski is a massive name. I've been watching him for a number of years.

"He's got 100 caps for Germany which is a massive achievement in itself.

"Giroud is a very good striker as well. He scores goals and brings quality to the side and that's what we need.

"You've always got to bring in new players and they're fantastic signings. I've met them and they're both really good lads so I think we'll get on really well this year and they'll be really good to play with."

Meanwhile, Oxlade-Chamberlain, 18, refused to be drawn on speculation over Robin van Persie's future, with the club’s top scorer last season linked with a move away from the Emirates.

"You can't read into papers," he added. "It's not for me to talk about, that's for the boss to explain.

"For me personally, I've just come in and I've worked hard and I've concentrated on pre-season and getting ready for the new season." BT Group
