The England international is set to undergo an operation which will see him miss Spurs' opening games of the campaign and World Cup qualifiers with Moldova and UkraineTottenham star Scott Parker is set to miss the beginning of the Premier League season after surgery on a persistent achilles injury.
The midfielder will be operated upon to correct the issue, which hampered the 31-year-old during the latter stages of last season and Euro 2012.
Spurs manager Andre Villas-Boas has confirmed the news, with Parker missing their current pre-season tour of America to have the operation.

The injury would see Parker miss the start of the domestic season and England's friendly against Italy in Switzerland on August 15. The former West Ham player could also be ruled out of the first two World Cup qualifiers, away to Moldova and at home to Ukraine, on September 7 and 11, respectively.
