The Senegalese striker scored 16 Premier League goals last season and his importance to the Magpies' cause has not been lost on his French team-mateNewcastle midfielder Yohan Cabaye has called for the club to do everything in their power to retain the services of Demba Ba this summer.
Ba scored 16 Premier League goals for the Magpies last term as they went on to secure Europa League football by finishing fifth.
And Cabaye insists the club must not consider cashing in on the Senegalese forward, who initially joined on a free transfer from West Ham, or any other star players.

“Demba scored many goals for us so it’s going to be important to keep him — and keep all the big players," he told The Sun.
“I hope the board are going to do the right things to keep them.
“I don’t know if we can go higher than last season, but we have to keep doing the right thing.”
France international Cabaye joined the Tyneside club from Lille last summer and made 38 appearances in total, scoring five goals.
