The 25-year old is set for a season-long stint in Greece after failing to establish himself in the first team at White Hart Lane

Spurs defender Bongani Khumalo is close to joining Greek side PAOK Thessaloniki on a season-long loan.

After arriving at White Hart Lane in January 2011, the South African is yet to make for appearance Spurs.

He spent part of 2011-12 at Reading but his loan was terminated after only playing four matches.

However, Khumalo's agent, Glyn Binkin, is confident that a deal can be struck with the Greek side.

"The clubs have agreed terms and the player and myself will be travelling to Greece this week with a view to agreeing and finalising the player's personal terms for the loan deal," Binkin told

Khumalo joined the North London side from Supersport United for a fee of around £1.5 million after impressing while on trial.

But two unsuccessful loan spells at Preston and Reading means the Bafana Bafana defender is now looking to reignite his career.
