thumbnail Hello,

The Sochaux forward stated that it is his desire to move away from Ligue 1 and fulfill a lifelong ambition of playing in England's top tier

Modibo Maiga is hoping that he can secure a "dream" move to the Premier League this summer, with Reading and West Ham two clubs that are rumoured to be interested in the striker.

The Mali international, who impressed for Sochaux last season, came close to signing for Newcastle United in January before negotiations collapsed.

But the 24-year-old has placed himself in the shop window  once again, and hopes that a move to England can finally be completed when the transfer window re-opens.

"My dream has always been to play in the Premier League, the best league in the world," he told Sky Sports.

"I almost joined Newcastle, but it did not happen.

"Some Sochaux fans held that against me, but not all of them."

With the two Premier League newcomers reportedly keen on Maiga, the striker remains keen on a switch across the channel. He did admit, however, that any potential bidder would have to meet his current club's asking price before talks can take place.

"It is still my ambition to play in the Premier League, so if a team wants to talk I will listen to them once they have reached an agreement with Sochaux," he concluded.
