The Belgian international is looking to make his mark at Stamford Bridge this season and wants to hit the ground running and evade the fate of the former Anderlecht striker
Chelsea new boy Kevin De Bruyne is determined to force his way into the first team and avoid the nightmare Romelu Lukaku endured at Stamford Bridge last season.
The 20-year-old signed for the Blues in January from Genk but returned to his former club on-loan until the end of the season.
Now the Belgian international is set to join up with his new team-mates when pre-season starts in July and is focused on hitting the ground running at Roberto Di Matteo’s side.
He is adamant he wants to avoid the same fate that Lukaku endured in his first season at Stamford Bridge following his move from Anderlecht, where the striker played just 12 times in the campaign.

“I want to adapt quickly”, the De Bruyne told Zevende Dag.
“I don’t want to have a situation happen to me as happened to Lukaku. I just want to play, but I realise the competition is strong.
“Obviously I will have to get used things. I will train with players I have watched and respected for 15 years, but I want to quickly improve the level that I am at.
“I have not thought too much about Chelsea lately, I was on holiday with friends. Now, I live from day to day and I will be extremely dedicated from the very first training session at Chelsea.”
