thumbnail Hello,

The Magpies face a tough opening month against last season's fellow Champions League-chasers, with the first Tyne-Wear derby scheduled for October 20 at the Stadium of Light

Newcastle face a tricky beginning to their 2012-13 Premier League campaign as they take on top-four rivals Tottenham and Chelsea in their first two fixtures.

The Magpies host Spurs on August 18 before travelling to Stamford Bridge the following week, and will be hoping to replicate the scenes from last season when Papiss Cisse bagged a wonderful brace in a 2-0 win for the visitors.

The first Tyne-Wear derby takes place on October 20 at the Stadium of Light, with the reverse fixture scheduled for April 13 - shortly after a trip to champions Manchester City.

Alan Pardew's side complete their campaign against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on May 19.
