Park believes Kagawa will make huge impact at Manchester United

The 31-year-old welcomes the addition of the Japanese international to the club, but insists that he is only focused on himself and not the increasing competition for places

Manchester United midfielder Ji-Sung Park believes that Shinji Kagawa will become a huge success at Old Trafford.

The South Korean, who became a national icon after moving to the Red Devils from PSV Eindhoven, is also expecting and the former Dortmund man to enjoy a similar limelight in his native Japan because of the move.

And the 31-year-old is confident Kagawa can deal with the pressures home and abroad to become a star at United.

"I know United have agreed a deal for Kagawa and I'm happy because we're signing a good player," Park told at an event hosted by his JS Foundation.

11/5 Manchester United are 11/5 with Paddy Power to win the Premier League next season.

"Manchester United is a huge club and every season we sign new, world-class names.

"I hope Kagawa shows how good he is next season and I think he will do."

While the South Korean international knows that he will have to compete with Kagawa for a regular starting spot, he is only concentrating on pre-season preparations.

"There is a lot of competition in the squad but it doesn't matter who I'm competing with," he added.

"We're a team and I just want to concentrate on producing better performances.

"We're starting our pre-season tour next month and those matches will help me to prepare for the new season.

"As always, when I begin a new season I am determined to improve."
