thumbnail Hello,

Adam Le Fondre showed his colours as Twitter was ablaze with thoughts, theories and speculation late on Wednesday night after news emerged that Spurs had sacked their boss

Wow. What a crazy turn of events, eh?

After a solid week of speculation, Harry Redknapp was given the boot by Tottenham. The reasons are not entirely clear and, no doubt, never will be, but that hasn't stopped Twitter having a go and telling all why.

Elsewhere, we have a frank assessment of the Netherlands' loss to Germany, their second-consecutive defeat in competitive games for the first time in 17 years.

Footballer-turned-pundit-turned-footballer Jason Roberts and his Reading team-mate Noel Hunt also ask for film recommendations which don't tell out as good as he hoped.

So, as ever, we have all the *ahem* bases covered here on WOTT, so let's bring you those tweets!

"Just woke up to news Harry Redknapp is no longer Spurs manager???? Wow!! I Thought he was doing a great job there...."

As the rest of Twitter found out last night - why is it always footballers who are the last to know? - Rio Ferdinand splutters into his morning bowl of Bran Flakes as he reads the breaking news from White Hart Lane.

"Good morning,Redknapp out? Strange one.."

Ditto Yossi Benayoun. He's not a Bran Flakes kind of guy though. Wheetos! Definitely Wheetos.

"harry gone! modric n bale man u please #wishfulthinking #wellbaleisanyway"

Does Reading striker Adam Le Fondre ‏have some insider knowledge? (No)

"Waking up to the big news of the day and I'm surprised, maybe even a lil shocked at the news that HR has left #spurs. Bold move by #thfc."

Amit Bhatia, QPR's co-owner and vice-chairman, has plenty of experience in firing managers but even he is "a lil shocked".

"Thoughts???"

Yeah, Tom Huddlestone! That's what we want from you! Chime in!

"Didn't expect to wake up to that news....."

And his Tottenham team-mate Andros Townsend is equally vague with his feelings.

"Wow Harry has left Spurs! Crazy news! Can't believe #Spurs have let him go. They will do well to replace him surely. Manger-Merry-go-Round."

Norwich's Anthony Pilkington concludes the best of the reaction, pointing out that Redknapp's dismissal is one of an ever-increasing list of managerial changes already seen in the Premier League's close season.

"Has there been a better start to a major tournament than these euros I can't think of one?"

Well, Phil Neville, WOTT thinks it is up there, for sure. Better than World Cup 2010 anyway... Zzz...

"I thought the Holland v Germany game was interesting..Dutch have amazing talent, arguably better individual talent..but Germany are a TEAM.."

"On TALENT alone..Robben, Van Persie, Hunterlaar, Sneijder and Van Der Vart make that team..Talent alone does not mean anything without HEART"

Jason Roberts, while having trouble with his caps lock, gives us his thoughts on Netherlands' 2-1 loss to Germany, which leaves the Dutch relying on results elsewhere to stand any chance of advancing to the quarter-finals.

"Might head to the Cinema later!!! Anything decent out!!?"

"Prometheus is the worst film ever!!!! I'd rather play Chess against a mirror!!"

In my favourite tweet of the day, it started so well for Reading's Noel Hunt, little did he know what he was getting himself into. Seriously though, "chess against a mirror"? Superb. BT Group
