'Belgium are equivalent to England' - Dembele

The 24-year-old acknowledged that The Three Lions have superior experience and could taste success at Euro 2012, but insisted that he does not fear them
Belgium midfielder Moussa Dembele believes his side have no reason to fear England, despite their 1-0 friendly defeat on Saturday.

The Three Lions secured victory over Marc Wilmots' men at Wembley thanks to a goal from Manchester United youngster Danny Welbeck.

However, the visitors dominated possession for large periods of the game and the 24-year-old believes that, despite the dearth of experience amongst the Belgians, the two squads are similar.

"We would be equivalent to them," he told reporters.

"England has a very good team, but I'm not afraid of them. They also have great experience and we have not."

Belgium failed to reach Euro 2012 after finishing behind Turkey and Germany in their qualification group, however, the former AZ Alkmaar man is optimistic of England's chances in Poland & Ukraine.

Dembele pointed to Fulham's run to the Europa League final under new England boss Roy Hodgson in 2010 as reason for encouragement.

"He [took] Fulham to the final of the Europa League [in his first season in charge], so who knows," he added.
