With the news that Brendan Rodgers has been confirmed as Liverpool’s new manager, thoughts immediately turn to how successful the new man will be at Anfield.
Since John W Henry and Fenway Sports Group gained control of the Reds in October 2010, three managers have left the club, with legend Kenny Dalglish the longest servant at just 16 months.
And what about the current first-team squad at Rodgers’ disposal? One of the key criticisms of Dalglish’s most recent reign was the large outlay on players who have not delivered.
So, with Rodgers gaining praise for his slick passing approach, will Andy Carroll, for example, be able to adapt to a more technical game?
Can you see the former Swansea City boss outlasting Dalglish, or will he suffer the wrath of Henry before his first season is out?
After a disappointing eighth-place finish in the Premier League last season, could Rodgers improve upon that and challenge for a spot in the top four and start rebuilding the struggling side?
