Having retired at the end of the 2010/11 season, Scholes made a shock u-turn, making his comeback for the Red Devils in January during United’s 3-2 FA Cup victory over rivals Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.
The veteran midfielder was lauded for his performances last season, scoring four league goals as he almost guided United to a 13th Premier League title.
And the United man is now set to prolong his career into a season which will see him turn 38.
