The Gunners have confirmed the minor procedure on the 20-year-old’s left knee went well and he will continue his rehabilitation with a scheduled summer return on the cards
Arsenal have confirmed that Jack Wilshere has undergone successful surgery to his left knee and is expected to be back training before the start of next season.
The procedure took place in Sweden and the 20-year-old will return to England to continue his rehabilitation with the Gunners.
Wilshere established himself as a key member of Arsene Wenger’s side in 2010-11 campaign, scoring three times in 49 appearances.
However, he missed the whole of the following season with an injury to his right ankle and suffered a number of setbacks.
His hopes of featuring in England’s Euro 2012 squad or Team GB’s Olympic squad were dashed by his injury setbacks, although the Gunners remain hopeful he will be able to take part in a part of their pre-season preparations.
