thumbnail Hello,

The former England striker has replied positively to a Twitter suggestion from Saints legend Matt Le Tissier following Manchester United's decision not to renew his contract

Michael Owen has hinted that he would consider a move to Southampton after publicly replying to Matt Le Tissier’s 'offer'.

The 32-year-old striker failed to win a new contract with Manchester United and is now looking for a new club but is determined to stay in the Premier League.

OWEN TO LEAVE UNITED
The former England striker has previously said he will make a decision after his summer holiday

Saints legend Le Tissier contacted Owen on the social media site Twitter, saying: “Maybe the warmer south coast should be your next destination mate, better for your muscles.”

Owen was quick to reply to Le Tissier’s suggestion: “Open to offers!!!”

However, Owen’s wage demands could present a stumbling block to any potential deal.

Saints clinched their return to the top-flight this season, making it back-to-back promotions.
