Argentina legend was thrilled after Roberto Mancini's side clinched the Premier League title late on against QPR and reveals how he celebrated with his son-in-law Sergio Aguero

Diego Maradona has voiced his delight with Manchester City's comeback against QPR on Sunday which helped them secure the Premier League title.

Roberto Mancini's side had looked set to miss out on the crown as they were trailing 2-1 when the game went into stoppage time, but goals from Edin Dzeko and Sergio Aguero - Maradona's son-in-law - eventually helped them to a 3-2 comeback win, and the Argentine legend was over the moon with his family member's success.

"I asked the score at one point and QPR were 2-1 up, and I was very upset. Then, in the changing room after we had finished training, I heard what happened and I was absolutely ecstatic. I was so happy, I was smiling from ear to ear. I enjoyed the news with all my heart," he stated to Sport 360.

"The whole Maradona family is extremely happy. I spoke to Sergio and my daughter Giannina, and my grandson Ben. I congratulated them all and we shared the great moment.

LIGHTNING STRIKES TWICE?

"Aguero has proved again he is a world-class player, and it takes a true champion to be able to score a winner like that in the 94th minute. This win proves Manchester City are a great club, especially to be able to overcome a tough rival like United."

Aguero's strike at the weekend was his 23rd league goal of the 2011-12 campaign.
