thumbnail Hello,

Gunners boss believes that the young attacker's impressive form this season will be enough to earn him a place on next month's plane to Ukraine & Poland with the England squad

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has tipped starlet Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to take a shock place in England’s Euro 2012 squad.

The 18-year-old has impressed since moving to the Emirates Stadium from Southampton last summer and subsequently breaking into the Gunners' first-team squad.

And, although the promising attacker is yet to be called up for the senior national team, he will be hoping to impress new boss Roy Hodgson on Sunday against West Brom.

Wenger told reporters: “If he has a chance to go to the Euros I am happy. If not, he will go one day to the Euros. It depends on the number of strikers who are available.

“Alex is developing well. He has still a lot to learn but the potential is absolutely fantastic.”

One player whom the Frenchman has definitely ruled out of Euro 2012 is midfielder Jack Wilshere, who is still struggling with an ankle injury he suffered last summer that has prevented him from making a single first-team appearance this season.
