thumbnail Hello,

The Norwich striker says he has proved his ability at the highest level and believes he won't be far off Roy Hodgson’s Euro 2012 squad following a successful Premier League season

Norwich striker Grant Holt believes that he "won’t be far off" selection for the England squad for Euro 2012 this summer.

The 31-year-old has been in fine form for the Canaries this season and is the second-highest English goal scorer in the Premier League. It is this form that Holt thinks can see him selected for his county after his first season in the top flight.

He told talkSPORT: "If it goes on form and goes on goals over the last season then I won’t be far off.

"I think I’ve done enough. I think if anyone was there watching me at the Emirates at the weekend, the way the team played and myself personally, then I won’t be far off.

"People keep saying that I haven’t done it at the highest level. Can they name me a better league than the English Premier League to play against the best defenders in the world? I don’t know one.

"There has been a lot of talk, there’s a lot of people speculating and a lot of people asking me about it but it’s up to Roy who he picks."

England manager Roy Hodgson will pick his preliminary Euro 2012 on Wednesday, May 16.
