Drenthe eyeing return to Feyenoord

Everton's on-loan Dutch midfielder is looking to seal a permanent move away from Real Madrid and is aiming to once again turn out for the club where he began his career
Everton midfielder Royston Drenthe, on loan from Real Madrid, has expressed his desire to return home and re-join his home town club Feyenoord.

The winger's contract at the Bernabeu runs out in the summer and after being deemed surplus to requirements at the Bernanbeu, Drenthe has spent the past two seasons on loan.

Despite making over 20 appearances for the Merseyside club, Drenthe has since been axed from the first-team squad on disciplinary grounds, with David Moyes refusing to pick him since and the Dutchman is keen to get back playing next season.

"I want to do what I like and that's play football. In addition Rotterdam is my city," he told The Sun.

"Feyenoord have not called me yet, but of course I would not mind if they did. Maybe I’ll call them myself."
