Newcastle striker Papiss Cisse considering legal action over Real Madrid claims

The Senegal international has refuted the claims in the media that he is after a move to the Spainish giants, instead pledging his continuing commitment to the Magpies

Newcastle United striker Papiss Cisse is considering legal action after quotes surfaced stating that he was keen to move to Real Madrid.

An interview surfaced on Wednesday morning, believed to have originated in France, where the Senegal international is claimed as saying that his “long-term aim is to play for the biggest clubs”, and that he has held Real Madrid in high regard since he was a youngster.

However, Cisse has since dismissed the authenticity of the quotes, and has threatened legal action.

A source said: “Papiss is totally committed to Newcastle United and is not interested in anything other than ensuring he and the team finish the season as strongly as possible.”

The 26-year-old only arrived on Tyneside in January after completing a £10 million from Bundesliga side Freiburg.

The disputed interview also attributes Papiss as saying: “I want to win the Champions League.
