Togolese striker is gunning for three points against Fulham on the last day of the Premier League season, and praises his side’s character after their 1-1 draw at Villa Park

Emmanuel Adebayor believes that his Tottenham side fully deserve a top-four finish in the Premier League this season.

The on-loan striker dispatched a second-half penalty against Aston Villa on Sunday to earn his side a crucial 1-1 draw, leaving them a point clear of Newcastle, in fifth, heading into the final round of fixtures.

The 28-year-old is confident that his side can get maximum points at White Hart Lane against Fulham on the final day to safeguard their position in the top four.

Adebayor told the club’s official website: “We have do everything it takes to win the last game and we’ll see what happens from there.

FOURTH IMPOSSIBLE TO CALL
Spurs boss Redknapp can't predict Champions League qualifiers
“Arsenal are playing at West Brom, that’s tough for them. We’re playing our last game at home and we couldn’t ask for more than that.

“It will be an amazing game, the fans will be with us and hopefully we’ll get what we deserve, and that’s to finish in the top four.”

Spurs fought back from a goal down against Villa in their last outing despite being having to play much of the game with 10 men following Danny Rose’s dismissal and the former Arsenal man was full of praise for the character shown by his side.

“We knew it would be tough,” he said. “We needed to win and they needed to win to keep out of relegation.

“They scored a deflected goal in the first half. What could we do about that? Nothing.

“We dusted ourselves down for the second half because we knew we had the ability to come back.

“We showed character in the second half, played together, worked hard and went home with one point.”

Adebayor has been one of Spurs’ standout performers this season since his arrival on loan from Manchester City, notching 16 goals and 11 assists in 31 Premier League matches for the north Londoners.
