Cisse delighted with 'dream' start at Newcastle

The 26-year-old revealed that he has always played with confidence but praised his team-mates for their support and feels the Premier League and Bundesliga are not too different

Newcastle United striker Papiss Cisse has described his start to life at the club as “a dream” after scoring 11 goals since joining from Bundesliga side Freiburg.

The Senegal international stated that he has always been confident of his ability, but has also praised his team-mates for contributing to his start.

He told Kicker: "I enjoy the life in Newcastle. It is amazing, how the things work in the team. It is a dream, but in soccer nothing works without working."

"I always believe in my skills to score goals. That many goals are unbelievable. I have to thank my colleagues that support me that much."

Cisse believes there are not many differences between the Bundesliga and the Premier League, apart from the speed at which the game is played in England’s top flight.

He added: "Premier League and Bundesliga are not different. Speed and physical strength are maybe more intensive in England and some squads are wider."

The striker also revealed he still keeps tabs on his old team Freiburg and admitted he was delighted they were not relegated from Germany’s top division.

"I always watch, how the club played. I am happy that they will not be relegated,” he concluded.
