Nani in talks over new Manchester United deal

The Portuguese winger has moved to end speculation over his Old Trafford future as he announces discussions with the club are progressing 'very well'
Nani has revealed he is in talks over a new contract at Manchester United as he moved to end speculation over his future ahead of Monday’s derby game with City.

"My agent is negotiating with the club on a new deal and things are going very well," he told the Daily Mail.

"I hope at the end of the season an agreement will be reached. Manchester United is my home."

The Portugal international was linked with a move after being left out of the starting line-up in last year’s Champions League final against Barcelona, but has gone on to feature heavily in United’s title challenge.
14/1 Nani is 14/1 with Paddy Power to score at any time in Monday's Manchester derby.

The winger has played 193 games for United after joining Old Trafford from Sporting Lisbon in 2007, and the manager praised the role of Sir Alex Ferguson in developing his career.

"The manager has immense faith in me and that's all that matters, He is a great coach. For me, the best in the world," the 25-year-old commented.

"But I have trembled in his presence when he hasn't been happy. I remember some games when we had won by two or three goals and he still wasn't happy. It seemed like we had lost. He's not someone you want to argue with."
