The 34-year-old has stressed that the Hoops need to concentrate on their own fixtures if they are to stand any chance of avoiding the drop ahead of Saturday's clash with Tottenham
Mark Hughes’ side go into Saturday’s game in 17th place after their bid for survival was weakened on Monday night as fellow strugglers Wigan leapfrogged the London side thanks to their shock 2-1 win over Arsenal.

And Derry believes that the Hoops are capable of producing similar performances as they look to preserve their top-flight status.
"[Wigan's win on] Monday night just goes to show that you've got no say in any other teams' performances or results," he told the club's official website.
"I don't think anyone would have foreseen that result - especially with Arsenal playing at home.
"But I suppose every time you get to the last four or five games of a season, random results get thrown your way and it is how you handle them."
Spurs will visit Loftus Road this weekend on the back of recent poor form in the leage and their 5-1 humbling against Chelsea in the FA Cup but Derry believes Harry Redknapp's side could be resurgent as they aim to hold on to a place in the top four.
"They've [Tottenham] been fantastic for the majority of this season," the midfielder continued. "It's only the last four or five weeks where their levels have perhaps dropped a little bit.
"When that happens, you know that there will eventually be an upturn in results and performances. We hope that doesn't come against us on Saturday. We've got to be at the top of our game.
"We're no different to four or five other teams. We know what's in front of us and we know the teams that we've got to play.
"They're very hard teams but we've proved in the past that we can play against these top sides. It's up to us now to put in a strong performance against Tottenham.
"You've got to have an engrained belief. It's pointless going out there if you don't believe that you can achieve something."
