Several eyebrows were raised when the French international midfielder signed for the North East club, forgoing a chance to play Champions League football in the process.
||Yohan Cabaye is 12/1 with Sportingbet to score the first goal when Newcastle play Stoke.
Speaking to reporters in France, Cabaye said: "It's the best league in the world for me [the Premier League]. There are no easy games and the tempo is very high. I'm progressing and I've no regrets.
"We've had a great season. Now people are saying Newcastle was the right choice because we're fourth or fifth in the table and we're going to play in Europe. People weren't saying that when I left. I knew it was the right choice because I was going to play.
"There are still five games to go and we need to go out and get what we want - and why not a Champions League place?"
Cabaye is also keeping one eye on this summer’s European Championships, and believes that team-mate Hatem Ben Arfa has done enough to warrant an inclusion to Laurent Blanc’s French team.
"I really hope he'll be in the 23 for Euro 2012. It's not my decision, but if it was I'd take him," he said.
With just four games left to play of the domestic season, Newcastle lie fifth, level on points with fourth-placed Tottenham.
