thumbnail Hello,

The Senegalese striker has created a mass of interest after a successful season with the Magpies and, despite interest from France, believes English football suits his style

Demba Ba admits it would be a “dream” to play for Paris Saint Germain, but insists he is happy at Newcastle United.

The striker made the move to Tyneside on free transfer from West Ham United and has been integral in the Magpies' challenge for European football this season, with the North East outfit level on 59 points with fourth-placed Tottenham.

Newcastle are 20/1 to beat Stoke 3-0 in Saturday's Premier League clash.

Ba’s 16 goals in their Premier League campaign has alerted several suitors for the Senegal international’s services, with French outfit PSG thought to be keen to make a move.

However, despite conceding that a move to the Ligue 1 giants is one of his ambitions, Ba insists he is happy at Newcastle and is well suited to English football.

“It’s always a dream for me to play one day at PSG, but I’m really happy where I am in Newcastle,” Ba told reporters. “The English league suits me perfectly."

"I always loved PSG. I saw them beat Marseille at (Newcastle team-mate) Yohan Cabaye’s place recently.

“But since I joined Newcastle, I have rediscovered the feeling I had when I was a young boy playing on the pitches at the bottom of the street."

Recently, Ba’s goal run has come to an abrupt stop and has coincided with moving to the left-side of attack to accommodate new addition Papiss Cisse, a change the 26-year-old has accepted for the benefit of the team.

He added: “The coach told me he would put me on the left and for the team I thought, ‘Let’s do it’.

“I know the qualities of Papiss as a finisher. It does not bother me at all.  If I score, that’s great, but if I don’t score there is someone else who does."
