thumbnail Hello,

Eden Hazard shone once more for Lille, while Luuk de Jong's superb double for Twente could ramp up interest from clubs ahead of the summer window

With just a handful of games remaining across the majority of leagues in Europe, players will be aiming to conclude their campaigns on a positive note ahead of the transfer window.

Goal.com
brings you both the best and the worst individual displays across Europe over the weekend as we track those who could be moving to the Premier League this summer.

GOOD WEEK...

Bas Dost's blistering form this season continued at the weekend as his hat-trick inspired Heerenveen's comeback victory over NEC Nijmegen.

The 22-year-old's second-half treble took his personal tally to 24 goals in 13 games, and has helped Heerenveen continue their hunt for a place in the Champions League.

All three of Dost's strikes were the result of predatory movement inside NEC's area and the Dutchman showed ice-cool composure in front of goal as his side ran out 4-2 winners.

Dost's performances have not gone unnoticed as the striker has been linked with moves to Aston Villa and, most recently, Newcastle United, who are also likely to secure a place in Europe for next season.

Yet to be capped at senior level for the Netherlands, Dost has also been tipped to be handed a spot in the Dutch squad for Euro 2012 this summer, and should he replicate his club record for his country, interest is likely to increase across the continent.

It was also a good weekend for Eden Hazard, as Lille ran out 4-1 winners against Ajaccio on Sunday. The Belgium international, who is being closely monitored by the Premier League's top four, converted a penalty and grabbed an assist. Manchester City target Lucas Digne also featured and had a solid game before being substituted late on.

Chelsea are reportedly leading the race for Axel Witsel and the midfielder starred in Benfica's Portuguese League Cup triumph over Gil Vicente on Saturday.

Christian Eriksen netted in Ajax's 3-1 win over De Graafschap on Sunday and Arsenal target Jan Vertonghen also featured.

Manchester City are preparing a £16 million bid for Ander Herrera this summer and the midfielder showed excellent composure on the ball in the 55 minutes he featured in during Athletic Bilbao's 1-0 victory over Mallorca. Bilbao's Oscar de Marcos, a reported target of Manchester United, also enjoyed a positive performance.

BAD WEEK...

Koln crept even further towards relegation after slumping to their second successive Bundesliga defeat on Sunday and Lukas Podolski cut a frustrated figure during the 3-0 loss at Borussia Monchengladbach.

The 26-year-old has been widely tipped to join Arsenal this summer and with Koln without a win in six matches, the move would be almost a certainty if the German club cannot remain in the top flight.

Podolski's goalscoring record this season, coupled with his ability to play out on the left flank, means he will be a solid acquisition for Arsene Wenger, who has seen Gervinho struggle to finish his chances during his first term at the Emirates.

Olivier Giroud has been touted with a move to Arsenal at the end of the season but he could not help Montpellier avoid suffering a 2-1 defeat at Lorient, despite scoring late on. On-loan Arsenal striker Joel Campbell netted for for the hosts.

Newcastle United target Erik Pieters missed PSV's 3-2 victory over AZ Alkmaar with a foot injury.

Burak Yilmaz may be the clear leader in the Turkish Superlig scoring charts with 32 goals so far this term, but the Arsenal, Aston Villa and Fulham target failed to net in Trabzonspor's 2-0 Super Final defeat against Fenerbahce.

Marseille secured the Coupe de la Ligue for the third consecutive season following a 1-0 win over Lyon but Tottenham target Loic Remy, who was a pre-match injury doubt, had a poor game before being substituted for the winning goalscorer Brandao.

SURPRISE PACKAGE...

Despite Twente's Eredivisie title hopes having faded following a 2-2 draw at home to NAC Breda on Sunday, their shining light this season, Luuk de Jong, netted twice to continue his excellent record in front of goal this term.

The 21-year-old has shown versatility in his goalscoring ability this season but both of his strikes for Steve McClaren's side were of the highest class as he beat Jelle Ten Rouwelaar with two well-placed finishes from outside the area.

De Jong's double took his tally to 23 goals in the Eredivisie this season, five behind the prolific Dost.

Newcastle United are reportedly interested in De Jong's services this summer, while earlier this month McClaren conceded the striker would be suited to the Premier League but felt he needed another season at Twente before making the move.

The interest from Newcastle United comes as Demba Ba could be heading for the exit door this summer due to a £7m release clause in his contract, which could alert Tottenham and Chelsea to his availability.
