Veteran midfielder Paul Scholes is back in the starting XI as Manchester United face Aston Villa on Sunday.

In one of three changes made by Sir Alex Ferguson, Scholes returns to the midfield following Wednesday's defeat to Wigan in place of Ryan Giggs.

Danny Welbeck is preferred in attack to Chicharito, as Rafael slots in at right-back in place of Phil Jones, who has to settle for a place on the bench.

Meanwhile, Aston Villa boss Alex McLeish has made three changes of his own for the trip to Old Trafford.

Gary Gardner has been handed a start following an injury to Chris Herd in the 1-1 draw with Stoke City.

Stephen Warnock has been forced out of contention too with Ciaran Clark coming into the side, while Charles N'Zogbia is forced to make do with a place on the substitute's bench once again.
