thumbnail Hello,

The club will commemorate the 96 lives lost in the disaster in a ceremony at Anfield on Sunday afternoon, with Reds legends and current players expected to attend

Sunday marks the 23rd anniversary of the Hillsborough disaster, in which 96 Liverpool fans lost their lives during an FA Cup semi-final between the Merseyside club and Nottingham Forest.

To commemorate the lives of those lost in Sheffield, Liverpool will be holding a memorial service at Anfield, with players from past and present expected to attend.

The service comes a day after Liverpool's FA Cup semi-final win over neighbours Everton at Wembley, where a minute's silence was observed with relatives of some of the 96 to die present.

Goal.com reporter David Lynch will be at the ground for the service.
