Lukas Podolski finally sees his fortunes improve at Koln, while Manchester City may think twice about a double swoop for Napoli's Edinson Cavani and Ezequiel Lavezzi

We edge ever closer to the summer transfer window and players will be looking to end their campaigns on a high ahead of incoming bids from interested clubs.

Goal.com
brings you both the best and the worst individual displays across Europe over the weekend as we track those who could be moving to the Premier League this summer.

GOOD WEEK...

Rennes kept their hopes of securing a place in Europe alive following a 3-1 victory at mid-table Evian on Saturday, and Yann M'Vila impressed during his side's win.

The 21-year-old showed excellent composure on the ball throughout and posted an 87 per cent pass completion rate, which aided the fluidity of Rennes' play.

Rennes boss, Frederic Antonetti, has already confirmed M'Vila will not remain at the club this summer, while the midfielder has also hinted he would welcome a move to Arsenal in order to work under Arsene Wenger.

"Inter, Arsenal, Real, I will take the fun everywhere!" M'Vila told Canal+.

"These are great clubs. If the coach calls you and tells you he wants you to make you play, especially a French coach, it changes everything. The important thing for me is getting playing time for the France team."

It was also a good weekend for Hulk, as the striker netted the winner against title rivals Braga to take his tally to 15 for the season in all competitions for Porto. Manchester United target, James Rodriguez, also featured and set up the Brazilian for his goal.

Lukas Podolski, who appears to edge closer to Arsenal every week, grabbed an assist in Koln's 1-1 draw with Werder Bremen.

Iker Muniain impressed during Athletic Bilbao's 1-0 victory over Sevilla on Sunday. The midfielder has been linked with a move to Manchester United in recent weeks along with team-mate, Oscar De Marcos, who featured but struggled to make an impact.

Erik Pieters is reportedly on Newcastle United's shortlist this summer and the 23-year-old defender won his first club title as PSV secured the KNVB Beker following a 3-0 victory over Heracles on Sunday.

BAD WEEK...

Eden Hazard's strong form of late came to an end on Saturday as Lille slumped to a 3-1 defeat away to Brest.

The Belgium international had scored five goals and made four assists in the five matches prior to the loss but the 21-year-old struggled to influence as Lille slipped seven points behind Ligue 1 leaders Montpellier and second-placed Paris Saint-Germain, who both picked up wins.

The midfielder has been watched by Sir Alex Ferguson, Roberto Mancini and Harry Redknapp this season and looks set to become the centre of a transfer frenzy this summer as Premier League clubs weigh up their options ahead of the impending transfer window.

Manchester City are also keeping tabs on Lille's Lucas Digne ahead of the summer window but the left-back also struggled to shine during the defeat at Brest.

Loic Remy assisted Andre Ayew's header but is was a bad night overall for the Tottenham target as Marseille were beaten 2-1 by Paris Saint-Germain.

Ezequiel Lavezzi set up Goran Pandev's strike on Saturday against Lazio, but Napoli slumped to their second successive Serie A defeat. Edinson Cavani failed to inspire during the match and is now two games without a goal.

Olivier Giroud has been tipped to move to Arsenal this summer but the forward was subdued throughout Montpellier's 2-1 victory over Sochaux on Saturday.

SURPRISE PACKAGE...

Raul showed he still has much to offer as his double helped Schalke stay on course to secure a place in the Champions League next season.

The Spanish veteran's first in a 3-0 win over Hannover came after just six minutes as he rose to meet Jefferson Farfan's well-flighted free-kick with a neat glancing header.

Raul netted his second two minutes into the second half, this time Farfan played the ball through to the 34-year-old, who effortlessly used both feet to jink past Hannover goalkeeper Ron-Robert Zieler before calmly slotting home from a narrow angle.

Schalke have already offered Raul a one-year contract extension as his current deal is set to expire at the end of the campaign, while the striker has admitted any decision over his future will be based on the best interests of his family.

With 20 goals this season, the former Real Madrid man may have sparked the interest of a host of Premier League sides ahead of the summer window.

As the hunt to find a striker who possesses such a wealth of experience is becoming ever difficult, Raul could prove to be a short-term gamble that's worth taking.
