The Anfield club are said to be thrashing out a deal with the Serie A side which would see them secure the services of the 28-year-old Peruvian left-winger
Liverpool are believed to be discussing a deal which would see them secure the signing of Juan Manuel Vargas from Fiorentina, according to The Sun on Sunday.
The Peruvian winger has been attracting interest from around Europe following some impressive performances for the Italian outfit.
Vargas was recently on the radar of Bayern Munich who reportedly had a £8 million offer rebuffed, but it now appears that Fiorentina are willing to sell and Anfield is the likely destination.
The 28-year-old has played over 100 times for the Serie A side and has represented his country on 39 occasions, netting four goals.
The potential arrival of Vargas could spell the end of Dirk Kuyt’s Liverpool career, as the club are believed to be willing to let him go in an attempt to lower their wage bill.
