thumbnail Hello,

The Nigerian believes the Toffees would benefit greatly from making stronger starts to their campaigns and is hoping for a regular run in the team after finally shaking off injury

Victor Anichebe has insisted Everton must start their campaigns better after scored in his side’s 2-0 victory over West Brom on Saturday.

The Toffees have typically started slowly before finding form later in the season under David Moyes and Anichebe believes the club would benefit from quicker starts.

He told Sky Sports: "I feel we need to start doing well from the start of the season now and who knows where that will get us by the end."

Anichebe netted against the Baggies after also scoring at the Hawthorns earlier this season and could not understand his good form against Roy Hodgson's men.

“I don't know, it's just something about this team that I seemed to get a goal against," he said.

"But, I'm not really that bothered. The fact that the team got the three points was the main thing."

The 23-year-old suffered a groin injury last year and has struggled to maintain a regular first-team place since returning from the problem, but is now confident in his fitness and wants to end the season strongly.

He added: "I've had a few problems but I think that's my ninth or tenth game this season which is not great, but hopefully I can get a few more games before the end of the season."
