Bolton midfielder Muamba looking well in hospital

The Trotters midfielder, who suffered cardiac arrest in the club’s FA Cup quarter-final with Tottenham on March 17, is smiling in a photo posted by his fiancee on Twitter

Fabrice Muamba's fiancee has posted a picture of the Bolton Wanderers midfielder looking well in hospital.

The Trotters midfielder, 23, has been recovering in hospital since his cardiac arrest on March 17 during the club’s FA Cup quarter-final clash against Tottenham.

Bolton’s club doctor and emergency medical officials gave the former England Under-21 player treatment at White Hart Lane but his heart had effectively stopped for 79 minutes before he arrived at hospital.

Shauna Muamba wrote on Twitter: “Fab wanted me to post this pic for you all and to also say thank you for such overwhelming support.”

Clubs across England had shown their support the weekend after the incident and emotional scenes at the Reebok Stadium helped propel Bolton to a 2-1 win over Blackburn Rovers last Saturday.

It is not yet known if or when the former Arsenal and Birmingham City midfielder will be able to play professional football again.
