Aaron Ramsey is set to miss Arsenal's next two fixtures with injury, according to The Independent.

The Gunners travel to Anfield this weekend on the back of their 5-2 demolition of north London rivals Spurs and will hope to avoid defeat in order to keep their chances of qualifying for next season's Champions League on track.

However, Arsene Wenger is particularly concerned over the fitness of striker Robin van Persie, after hearing the news that Ramsey will definitely be out.

The young midfielder is also set to miss the Champions League last-16 second-leg against AC Milan.

Trailing 4-0 after defeat at the San Siro, Arsenal are in need of a huge victory in order to seal their passage in to the quarter finals.

Wenger will hope that his side can reproduce the form shown last weekend, as they came from 2-0 down to post a huge win.

Ramsey looks set to return to contention in time for Newcastle's visit to the Emirates on the March 12, although Aston Villa's trip to London two weeks later could be a more realistic aim.
