Manchester United's Paul Scholes: There is no margin for error in Premier League title

The veteran midfielder admits that winning is the only option as they aim to hunt down rivals Manchester City in the race for the title

Paul Scholes has admitted that winning every single one of their remaining games might be the only way Manchester United can defend their Premier League title.

With only 12 league fixtures remaining, Sir Alex Ferguson's men trail two points behind leaders Manchester City ahead of Sunday's trip to third-placed Tottenham.

United secured a dramatic 2-1 victory against Norwich City at the weekend thanks to Ryan Gigg's last gasp winner, and Scholes accepts they will have to throw everything against their opponents as they attempt to deny their local rivals in their quest for domestic honours.

"There is no point drawing games so we were throwing everyone forward going for that goal, and I am sure we will do the same thing again," Scholes told MUTV.

"Of course, three points instead of one is a big difference. That is what we are here to do.

"We realise we may have to win every game to win the league, but we are ready and prepared to do that. Hopefully, we can do it."
