The Maja House Group opened 'Stevie G' in late 2011 in Badnung, with one particular room attracting a lot of attention, while club history decorates the walls in most rooms

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has had a hotel in Indonesia named after him thanks to management being huge supporters of the club.

The hotel, named ‘Stevie G’, owned by The Maja House Group, was constructed in 2010, before being opened in the latter months of 2011, with much of the building’s interior being Liverpool-related.

It is believed that Gerrard is the first footballer to have a hotel named after him, but with the owners being Liverpool fans, it was named in honour of their current captain.

Speaking to JMU Journalism, Aditya M said: “The Stevie G is a unique and one of the room’s decors, the ‘This is Anfield’ room, was indulging Liverpudlians.

“In the room there is Anfield stadium wallpaper and a collection of Liverpool players past to present, such as Kenny Dalglish, Michael Owen, Steven Gerrard and even Luis Suarez can be found on the bedroom walls.”

The naming of the hotel has apparently had an exciting effect on supporters of the club in the country, with many already said to be wanting photos taken in the various rooms.

Head of Indonesia’s Official Liverpool FC Supporter’s Club, Debbie Winardi, also told the website: “It is known here that the name of the hotel, 'Stevie G', is referring to Steven Gerrard as he is very popular over here.

“The ‘This is Anfield Room’ got LFC supporters in Indonesia very excited. A lot of my LFC supporter friends are talking about it on Twitter and they are generally very excited about it.

“From what I’ve read on the hotel’s Facebook page, generally people want to experience the room either by staying in it, or just talking photographs.

“Of course it will be a unique experience for a supporter, staying in a room themed with everything related to LFC.”
