The Slovakian defender believes his side are more than capable of qualifying for next season’s Champions League with a strong end to this campaign
Kenny Dalglish's men are currently 7th in the Premier League, four points short of fourth-placed Arsenal.
Speaking to the Daily Star, Skrtel said: "We've had close games with [Manchester] City and [Manchester] United and we beat Chelsea.
“I believe we can get there."
Looking at the competition for qualification - namely Chelsea and Arsenal - the Slovak sees little difference between Liverpool and these sides.
He continued: "When you look at our games with teams in those positions at the moment I don't think they are that much better than us.”
However, the 27-year-old is well aware that the onus is on them to perform as the season comes to a close.
"It's up to us to ensure we qualify for the Champions League.”
Liverpool face Brighton in the FA Cup on Sunday before the League Cup final with Cardiff City the following weekend.
The Reds will then resume Premier League action in a home clash with top-four challengers Arsenal on March 3.
