On-loan defender Sebastien Bassong has handed Wolves a boost after scans revealed that his injury was not as serious as first thought and should be available for their next Premier League match against Newcastle United.
The centre-back limped off of the field during the 5-1 defeat to West Brom on Sunday, creating fears that he could face a number of weeks out.
However, the 25-year-old looks set to be able to play against his former employers.
"The scan has revealed a grade one strain and Sebastien has started his rehabilitation at Compton," Steve Kemp the head of the club’s medical staff explained on the club’s official website.
"We'll see how progresses but if he makes a good recovery he'll have a chance of being available for the trip to Newcastle."
Due to the club being knocked out of the FA Cup, Wolves will have a break of almost two weeks to prepare for the trip to the Sports Direct Arena, letting players like Bassong shake off any little knocks they are carrying.
The Cameroon international took the opportunity to leave Tottenham on loan in order to revive his flagging career, so he will be relieved to see that this set back will be minimal.
