Roy Hodgson's future remains uncertain as his West Brom contract nears an end

The former Liverpool manager has rebuilt his reputation at the Hawthorns but with his current deal up this summer, no guarantees appear forthcoming from either manager or chairman.

Roy Hodgson has said that he is unsure about his future at West Brom, despite having celebrated a year in charge with a stunning 5-1 victory over Wolves at Molineux on Sunday.

The 64-year-old took over at the Baggies last February after Roberto Di Matteo was sacked following a bad run of form, just a month after Hodgson was dismissed by Liverpool following an unhappy six months on Merseyside.

The former Inter manager went on to lead the club to an impressive 11th-placed finish, their highest in three decades, before continuing that good work this campaign.

However, Hodgson's contract at the Hawthorns runs out in the summer, and whilst there has been no talk of him leaving, he has yet to commit his future to the club either.

"I shall be 65 in the summer and I don’t need to worry about those sort of things. We’ll see what happens," said Hodgson.

"The one thing I do care about is working in the Barclays Premier League.

"I’m not so certain that I want to come back to England – which has been fantastic since I came back four years ago – and just cling on to any job and work in any division.

"Let’s see how the next games pan out, and where we’re going to go, and then maybe I’ll sit down with the chairman and I’ll discuss the future."
