Rafa Benitez a 12/1 shot to take over at Wolves while Steve Bruce is the early favourite

The previous two Premier League bosses to lose their jobs are both in the running to take over at Molineux while Rafa Benitez has been priced up at 12/1

After a string of bad results Wolves manager Mick McCarthy has left the club and become the third Premier League manager to lose his job this season. Sunday's humiliating 5-1 defeat to rivals West Brom at Molineux proved a step too far for club owner Steve Morgan and McCarthy's six year tenure came to an end.

Paddy Power have installed former Sunderland manager Steve Bruce as 3/1 (4.00) favourite to take over in the West Midlands. Wolves now sit in the bottom three of the Premier League, albeit only on goal difference, after Sunday's heavy defeat.

Neil Warnock is available to back at 11/2 (6.50), the former QPR boss who was sacked from his role in charge of a struggling Rangers side just several weeks ago. It appears the Premier League managerial merry-go-round will continue to spin. Although Alan Curbishley is available at 7/1 (8.00) to become the new man in charge after a lengthy spell away from management.

Lee Clark is available at 15/2 (9.50) but after being heavily linked with vacancies at both Leeds and Leicester in the past six months he looks unlikely to leave current club Huddersfield Town, especially as a successful season could be on the cards at the Galpharm.

Billy Davies is next in the betting at 10/1 (11.00). The former Nottingham Forest boss has been out of work since leaving the City Ground earlier this season but with no Premier League experience to his name and a potential relegation battle on his hands, would Wolves appoint a coach who had such a torrid time with Derby last time out in the Premier League?

If the new boss is to come from a lower league background then it could be wise to look at Karl Robinson, current MK Dons manager and one of the most promising English managers in the Football League.

He is available at 18/1 (19.00) with Paddy Power. The 31-year-old Dons boss would surely relish the opportunity to make the step up at such an early stage in his career and the 18/1 available is currently an industry best price.

Finally, Rafa Benitez has been priced up as a 12/1 (13.00) shot to make a sensational return to the Premier League which some could view as a good value outside bet given Steve Morgan's past links to Liverpool while Benitez was in charge on Merseyside.
