Gary Cahill drops back to the bench for Chelsea's trip to Everton after the January signing started his first game in the club's last league match against Manchester United.
Andre Villas-Boas brings back Ashley Cole to replace the former Bolton man, after the left-back missed the draw with the champions, with Branislav Ivanovic moving into the centre of defence.
His other change sees Frank Lampard start in place of Florent Malouda in a three-man midfield, with John Terry still sidelined through injury.
David Moyes makes just one change from the side that drew 1-1 with Wigan at the DW Stadium last Saturday, with Phil Nevielle coming in for Tony Hibbert at right-back.
Everton: Howard; Neville, Heitinga, Distin, Baines; Donovan, Fellaini, Gibson, Pienaar; Cahill; Stracqualursi
Subs: Mucha, Hibbert, Drenthe, Gueye, Barkley, Vellios, Duffy
Chelsea: Cech; Bosingwa, Luiz, Ivanovic, Cole; Essien, Lampard, Meireles; Sturridge, Torres, Mata
Subs: Turnbull, Obi Mikel, Malouda, Lukaku, Ferreira, Cahill, Bertrand
