Sunderland manager Martin O'Neill aiming for FA Cup revenge on Arsenal
Black Cats boss hopes a week off will allow his re-charged team to book place in quarter-finals at the expense of the Gunners who face Champions League duties in Milan

Sunderland manager Martin O’Neill has set his sights on gaining revenge over Arsenal in the FA Cup after Thierry Henry inspired the Gunners to a 2-1 victory in the clubs’ Premier League clash.
The two sides will renews hostilities in their FA Cup fifth-round on Wearside next Saturday and O’Neill is hoping that his players can take maximum advantage of their opponents' Champions League commitments.
After the Black Cats were caught out late on by Henry’s 92nd minute goal, O’Neill blamed the defeat on the midweek FA Cup replay against Middlesbrough that went to extra-time but he is hoping for a reversal of fortune next weekend.
“We didn’t deserve to lose the game but the exertions of Wednesday evening caught up with us,” O’Neill told reporters at his post-match press conference.
“It wasn’t a great goal, having seen it back, for us to concede from our viewpoint.
“We were very tired and perhaps positions might be reversed next Saturday in the FA Cup after they have gone to AC Milan to play in the Champions League and we have got a chance to get a bit of rest.
“The boys just need a bit of energy which we will get midweek and we will be ready for next Saturday.”
Henry completed an impressive comeback after fellow substitute Aaron Ramsey had cancelled out James McClean’s opener.
“It was obviously disappointing to lose from a winning position but I would have no complaints at all about the team because their heart and soul have gone into the game over the last two months,” O’Neill added.
“Henry has been a terrific player in his time in England and he hasn’t done too badly this time around as well he but he shouldn’t really be able to score from a couple of yards out when the ball is lobbed into the penalty area.
“I am genuinely disappointed but if you are not going to win it in the last couple of minutes you have to make sure you are not going to lose it and that is something we have to learn.”
