Blackburn Rovers hold reconciliation talks with Christopher Samba - report
Steve Kean could welcome the 27 year-old defender back into his side after he was left out of the squad that suffered a 7-1 loss against Arsenal
By James McManus
Blackburn Rovers are looking to reconcile with wantaway defender Christopher Samba, according to reports.
The Times claim the club are holding talks with the 27-year-old, who has been training with the reserves after he handed in a transfer request last month.
Any movement on such a compromise could hinge on whether Blackburn are willing to offer Samba improved terms on his current contract.
Samba, who had been linked with moves to Tottenham and QPR last month, is believed to be one of the highest earners at Ewood Park after signing a new £60,000-a-week deal in January 2011, which expires in 2015.
The defender has been a vocal critic over what he perceives as Venky's lack of ambition since taking control control of Blackburn, while Rovers manager Steve Kean recently hinted the club were exploring their legal options with regards to Samba's actions.
It is understood that Venky's are thought to be willing to draw a line under the whole affair, particularly in the wake of the club's recent 7-1 defeat at Arsenal.
