Chelsea complete signing of 15-year-old Brondby defender Andreas Christensen on a free transfer
The Blues have secured the signature of the Denmark U-17 centre-half ahead of Premier League rivals Arsenal and Manchester City and German giants Bayern Munich
By Shane Farrington
The Blues have reportedly beaten off competition from Arsenal, Manchester City and Bayern Munich to convince the talented youngster to join them in the summer.
Despite his young age the centre-back stands at a towering six feet in height and has already been capped by Denmark at Under-17 level.
"I have chosen Chelsea because they play the kind of football I like,” Christensen told Ekstra Bladet. "At the same time, they have the best plan for my future in football."
Under-pressure Blues boss Andre Villas-Boas has also received a boost with midfield duo Frank Lampard and John Obi Mikel both returning to training, after overcoming respective injuries.
Lampard had missed the last three games due to a calf injury and Mikel spent seven weeks on the sidelines after suffering from a hamstring problem.
Both of these are fighting to return to full fitness for Saturday's game against Everton, as it looks possible for Lampard Mikel may is likely to miss out having to wait untill Chelsea's FA Cup tie against Birmingham on February 18th.
