‘We can’t let this be a one-off’ – Kevin Doyle calls for Wolves to build on victory at QPR
With a crucial Black Country derby against West Brom on Sunday, the striker has stressed the importance of maintaining winning ways and is hopeful he will have a big part to play

Doyle netted the winner in his side’s 2-1 win at Loftus Road after coming on as a substitute to give Mick McCarthy’s men their first victory in 10 league matches.
With the Black Country derby against West Brom just around the corner, the Republic of Ireland international has stressed the importance of continuing last weekend’s form if they are to climb away from the Premier League’s bottom three.
“We can’t let this be a one-off, that’s the message we’ve all got to learn,” Doyle told Express & Star. “Three points is good but will mean nothing if we carry on over the next few weeks and don’t get anything.
“We’re going into the derby having been disappointing the last time we played West Brom. It’s a massive game for us, we’re at home and have to build on this win. We needed that lift ahead of the game.”
Doyle was instrumental in helping Wolves recover from a goal down against Mark Hughes’ side, setting up Matt Jarvis for the equaliser before slotting home the winner after coming on as a second-half substitute.
There has been speculation surrounding the 28-year-old’s future in recent weeks, with his appearance against QPR being his first in the Premier League in a month.
Although he admits it has been a frustrating season, the former Reading hitman has played down rumours linking him with a move.
He said: “I don’t know what was going on with that.
“It’s been frustrating for me not playing. It was nice to get 45 minutes and hopefully I’ll get more over the next few weeks.”
