Scott Parker reveals Tottenham missed 'inspirational' Harry Redknapp in Liverpool stalemate: He gives us that extra bit of energy
The England international was pleased with the performance and feels the result was one point gained rather than two lost as Spurs look to keep up with the Manchester clubs

Tottenham midfielder Scott Parker feels the club missed the "inspiration" of boss Harry Redknapp in their 0-0 draw with Liverpool at Anfield.
The Spurs manager missed the game after his flight from London was cancelled due to technical difficulties, and Redknapp has also been away from the club after fighting allegations in court of tax evasion.
Parker told Sky Sports: “I think it’s always going to have an effect when your manager’s not here, especially Harry. Our gaffer inspires us, he gives us that extra bit of energy, so we’ve missed him to be fair over the last two weeks.
“He’s key to our team and key to what we’ve done this year. We’ll be absolutely delighted when he gets back and we’ll keep going on and keep fighting.”
Parker was pleased with his team’s performance against the Reds and feels it is a point gained as they look to keep the pressure on Manchester City and Manchester United in the Premier League title race.
He added: “When you come to Anfield it’s difficult, certainly tonight was no different. It was difficult at times for us. I felt we were a little bit one paced at times tonight.
“We’ve come here tonight and got a point which I suppose the most important thing. We kept a clean sheet and we haven’t lost the game so it was pleasing.”
The midfielder’s comments were echoed by defender Michael Dawson, who believes Spurs put in a gritty display at Anfield and feels they should only concentrate on their own performances rather than that of their rivals at the top.
Dawson said: “I think when you come to Anfield and keep a clean sheet it’s a point gained. We wanted the three and when Gazza’s [Gareth Bale] gone through late on you’d fancy him to put it away but there was a good work rate from the boys.
“They [Manchester City] got the win, they’re nine points ahead of us but we’ve got to concentrate on ourselves. We’ve come here in a tough game and we’ve got some more tough games coming up. We’ll keep working and keep performing and hopefully picking up points.”

"But, we came through. Obviously there were a lot of changes so it's good to get the result.
"Belgium are a very, very strong side who are going to be really good in the future. Vincent [Kompany] told me about them and said that they were coming good and I totally agree with him."
