Poll of the day: Were the two penalties given to Manchester United in their comeback against Chelsea correct decisions?
Howard Webb pointed to the spot on two occasions in the 3-3 draw with both managers dissatisfied with his performance. Do you think he made the right calls?
Manchester United were awarded two penalties as they clawed their way back from three goals down to salvage a point against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
A Jonny Evans own-goal gave the Blues the lead in the first half, before Juan Mata and David Luiz looked to have put the victory beyond doubt after the break. However, two Wayne Rooney penalties and a Javier Hernandez header ensured the visitors grabbed a point.
Andre Villa-Boas later slammed Howard Webb's display, saying: “We expect in top games top refs, and it has not been happening for us."
Sir Alex Ferguson was not quite as disappointed, but thought his side could have had two more penalties early on in the game.
Firstly, Ashley Young went to ground after contact from Jose Bosingwa inside the box, followed by Gary Cahill sliding in and bringing down Danny Welbeck as he charged through on goal, though he was judged to have got the ball first.
After that Villa-Boas saw his side go 3-0 ahead, only to then concede the two spot-kicks which allowed United a way back into the game.
Daniel Sturridge fouled Patrice Evra in a clumsy strikers' tackle for the first, before Welbeck fell over Ivanovic's outstretched leg for the second, with Rooney confidently netting from 12 yards both times and the Portugese left ot look on in disbelief from the side-lines.
Do you think United deserved the two penalties they got? And what about Chelsea, is Villas-Boas right to be outraged? Let us know your views by voting in our poll and by leaving a comment below. "But, we came through. Obviously there were a lot of changes so it's good to get the result.
"Belgium are a very, very strong side who are going to be really good in the future. Vincent [Kompany] told me about them and said that they were coming good and I totally agree with him."
